Feather 3 [Video/Action for Route 31]

[ The first thing visible as the recording begins is Joshua. He opens his mouth to say something, but is immediately cut off by a very odd sound echoing around him. He turns around, and the Gear angles to show behind him a rather large Sigilyph... getting quite thoroughly beaten up by a Bellsprout half its size.

Joshua sighs. ]

Confusion. Take out that one, too.

[ From off screen there's a high-pitched noise, and a purple aura briefly surrounds the Bellsprout, which collapses soon after. Joshua seems to take only a second to check that it's not getting up again before turning back to the video. ]

Now where was I? Oh yes. Any of you veterans out there have advice for someone new to this business? I'm training them for the first gym leader, and after all, knowing is half the battle.

[ He giggles, then ends the feed.

Others are free to run across him on Route 31 near Violet, riding his Absol around through the grass stirring up Pokemon, which his Ralts then takes out. The previously mentioned Sigilyph hovers through the air making odd, repetitive patterns with its path, usually not gathering too much notice from the wildlife but probably looking a fair bit out of place. ]

Well, for starters, there's the basics such as type advantage, along with how high your Pokemon's levels are compared to Falkner's.

What sort of levels are we dealing with, here?

If I remember correctly, Falkner's team are in the level 30s.

Thirties, hmm?

[ There's a few moments of awkwardly handling the Gear as he gets a reading from his Pokedex of the stats of his own Pokemon. ]

... Still a ways to go. I suppose I'll just have to be busy for a while.

Out of curiosity, how strong are they right now?

Between ten and twenty for all. [ He giggles, then gives a little toss of his head to indicate the Sigilyph behind him. ] Except for that one. It hatched earlier today.

What kind of Pokemon is that? I don't recognise it. [Just when he think he almost know them all. He's about to reach for his Pokedex to check.]

Hmm? [ Joshua checks that it is indeed him being asked about indeed the giant flying sphere, then chuckles. ] Sigilyph, apparently. Despite the size, it just hatched today.

Just hatched? So like, was that what you got from the egg from a couple weeks ago?

Ah, I wasn't the only one who received one? [ He giggles. ] Yes, the same.

Pretty sure everybody did.

[He fishes for a Pokéball at his waist, and tosses it to release an Emolga, which cheerfully flies on over to perch on his head.]

This squirrel dude's the one I got.

It's cute. When did yours hatch?

A few days ago.

Hee hee, at least I'm not too far behind. [ Said as he gets out his Pokedex and points it at the Emolga. His is set to silent, though, so no mechanical readout of the description here. ]

It's a Sigilyph. It hatched from the egg that appeared on Valentine's Day. Did you get one? [ ... an egg, not a Sigilyph ]

I see. And I did, yes.

Has it hatched yet?

Yes, last week, actually.

*pauses, glancing around, but only the Absol seated at his feet is in sight...*

*there's a rustling from a nearby clump of grass, and a Snivy pokes his head out of it, eyes lidded sleepily*
