So, these badges. Is there actually a point to them besides collecting them? I'm sure they make lovely conversation pieces, but I'm looking for a bit more than that.

And an unrelated question. Are comas a common occurrence around here? Humor my curiosity.

You can't really fall if you already down in the dumps.

But people always underestimate just how bad things can get.

Well, you're right. It could always be worse, but that doesn't mean there's a threshold about what we give a damn about. I mean, there's a point where we become apathetic to even more bad news and people usually put the extreme of the "bad things" line right around there.

I mean, a meteor can come and smite me right now. That'd certainly be awful, but, I shouldn't use it as an earmark for how terrible things can be.

Yes, but it also means that people can make light of their current situation. They may not seek help because they don't realize that not seeking help will indeed make things worse.

People do need to help themselves by asking help from others. I agree with that! However, not everyone needs help from everyone else. There are some things that can be solved on their own, or by oneself. [ She's gotten through a lot of tough times with positive thinking and excessive drinking! ]

Even those things can go easier with help. And the more willing one is to ask for help, the less likely they're ever be in the situation where there's no hope but to ask for help.

Just because they can be done with help doesn't mean it's necessary. [ She agrees with it regardless though so have some nodding! ]

And just because they can be done without help doesn't mean that's necessary.

Then what is necessary?

[ She hopes his response is just to deal with the situation in anyway possible because this is now confusing. ]

Hee hee, who knows? In the end, even as events occur, we don't know what was necessity or what was not.

I guess that's right. [ The confusion is painfully apparent in her face, tone, and just about everything else. ]

I think it's a vital trait in learning how to deal with the situation. [ There. That was vague enough to mean just about anything. ]
