So, these badges. Is there actually a point to them besides collecting them? I'm sure they make lovely conversation pieces, but I'm looking for a bit more than that.

And an unrelated question. Are comas a common occurrence around here? Humor my curiosity.

Depends. It's mostly random, I think, but sometimes it feels like there's at least someone in a coma every couple weeks or so.

Weeks, hmm? Compared to the world I come from, that does seem significant enough to be common. At least considering the population.

The badges can be used to allow your Pokémon to use certain moves outside of battle. The Zephyr one in particular will allow you to use Fly - assuming you have a Pokémon that can learn it, as well as the appropriate item to teach them.

As for the comas, they are reasonably common. They seem to occur for about a week, and the one in the coma usually awakens after having spent some time at home.

Item to teach them... ah, yes, I do recall something about that. I don't think I possess one at the moment, though. And what of comas that last longer?

I'm still not sure where one gets it, myself. I was simply given a Pokémon with Fly.

Although... I have never heard of a coma lasting longer than that before. Just how long was it?

Well, one of them apparently allows a flying pokemon to transport you places.

Comas are common, but most people that get knocked out by them go back home for an undistinguished period of time back home. However, here, they usually last a week. But, the occasional month long coma has been noted!

[ Rangiku has experienced the latter! Although, she suspects the coma was brought on by heavy drinking. ]

Well, some people do, some people don't. When I passed out for a month, I didn't go anywhere. But, I guess it could happen!!

... Oh, and there's also discounts and stuff. The more you win, the cheaper stuff is.

Which comes in handy if you're not the sort who wants to have to do shit jobs every time you get into a town just to scrape together a little cash for the necessities.
