It's amazing how the days can sometimes just fly by, can't they?

[ Hello everyone. Joshua is very much appreciating this warm January weather, and addresses the camera from... well, somewhere with water behind him, but more importantly he is not bundled up in a coat. He appreciates this. Having to wear coats for warmth instead of fashion is a terrible thing. ]

I was about to train some of my team today when I realized I don't actually have any left to train. [ There's a soft yelp from off screen, and Joshua rolls his eyes and continues on. ] Which brings me right to the point: does anyone have any suggestions for new Pokemon? Perhaps your favorite, or one that you appreciate having around, or one that's proven itself useful. Feel free to suggest one for any reason you want. I suspect it's well past the time when I should start collecting a few more.

And please include any necessary warnings with your suggestions, won't you?

What types of pokémon do you have so far? I've usually tried to acquire those that are of different types than what I already have to keep a balance in my team.

[A beat.]

The only one I wouldn't suggest is Tauros.

I'm not particularly looking to balance. The last time I chose a Pokemon based on that, I wound up with more than I bargained for.

Why not Tauros?

[France laughs a little self-consciously.]

Ah, well, when I first arrived her years ago, another nation from my world had a Tauros that even he couldn't control. It might have even been his starter, but, needless to say, he never was able to assert any measure of training over it before he disappeared as people are wont to do here. I inherited Toro after another nation from my world left, and... not much has changed. It's quite bullheaded, if you forgive the pun.

... "Nation"?

[France blinks before he breaks into a grin.]

Oh! In my world, I and others like me are nations! I myself am the Republic of France, and I am the people, culture, and language of my lands.

I... see.

[ ... You know, on second thought, Joshua can almost wrap his head around that. ]

So, that Tauros. Did he catch it, or raise it from an egg, or something else?

I believe Toro was the pokemon that he received when he arrived here, like my Marianne when she was a Vulpix. The place, for all it is lacking, does have a kind of cruel sense of humour.

[He grins a bit wryly.]

He is Spain, after all.

Might help us ta know what ya have so far.

More than I want to bother listing off. Why? Does what I have affect which are your favorites?

Well ya were askin' for advice. [Joker gives a shrug.] Can't say I've been here long enough to settle on one in particular, but I will say my Mime Jr. has never done me wrong.

I was asking for suggestions. I don't need more, but since there's little else to do with my time, I thought I could take on another few.

Why do you like that one?

Well, since Angel is the one I started out with, suppose I'm a bit biased!

Still, that empathy of hers seems ta come in handy.

What sort of empathy? I might have one that's similar.

I'm not entirely sure 'bout it myself, but she just seems ta pick up on what others are feelin'. I'm no expert, 'course.

How is it helpful?

Well, whenever I get a new Pokemon, she's always right in its business. Makes her quite the people person, an' she always seems ta figure out what they need. More space, or one a the others ta talk with... She's always made every new members feel right at home if given enough time.

I'm still a bit new here, so it's helpful for me at any rate!

So she acts as you ambassador? Yes, I can see the value in that, especially when you're still new to this.

Does she battle at all?

She's one of my main line ups, matter a fact. [He laughs as he remembers something.] She an' Lightning, my Luxray, made one helluva team when they were goin' up against Falkner!

Only problem is she doesn't seem ta be a fan of evolvin' anytime soon, so I have ta keep my things on hand.

Any idea why not?

Not much a one, I'm afraid. Best I can tell, she's scared a it for one reason or another.
